LEONARD DE KONINGH
“At The Well”
An oil on panel painting by Leonard de Koningh (1810-1887) entitled “At the Well” depicting a lady collecting water from a spring.

Frame: Presented in a later, swept giltwood frame.
Signature: Lower right.
Provenance: Christie’s Amsterdam, 20th Oct 1994. Partial exhibition label on reverse. Old hand written label of authenticity on reverse.
Condition: Painting and frame are both in good condition. There are some very small areas of re-touching on the lady’s feet, hands and hair, and on the dog.
Measurements: Painting measures 37 x 28cm and the overall frame 51 x 42cm.
Biography: Leonard de Koningh (1810-1887) was born in London and was the son of the Dutch landscape painter Leendert de Koningh (1777-1849).
He worked as a drawing teacher from 1825 to 1887 in Dordrecht. He was also a lithographer and photographer.
