“The Days Bag and A Loyal Team Pair”

A spectacular pair of oil on canvas paintings by John Morris (1865-1924) of dogs entitled “The Days Bag” and “A Loyal Team”.  They depict a group of retriever dogs with pheasants that were bagged earlier in the day.  An exceptionally fine example of paintings by this artist.

Frame:  Set in the original gilt wood frames.

Provenance:  Property of Anthony John Crocker August 1981 (labels on reverse of each painting)

Condition:  Painting and frames are all in good condition.  A few small spots of re-touching visible under a UV light.

Measurements:  Each painting measures 89 x 69cm and the overall frame 119 x 99cm.

Biography:  John Morris (1865-1924) was a British artist and was particularly well known for wildlife and sporting scenes, especially dogs, sheep and cattle.
